Spoke Chair - 2009

Inspired by Jean Prouvé’s Antony Chair, this design explores the relationship between a low lounge form, an open wood structure, and a simple supporting frame. Rather than using a continuous bent plywood shell, the chair is built from individual ash slats that form both the seat and back, giving the piece flexibility, rhythm, and a clear sense of construction.

The slightly fanned-back, curved seat and tapered supports create a relaxed posture while keeping the chair visually light. Rounded armrests and softly shaped legs bring warmth to the otherwise structured frame, allowing the material and joinery to remain visible. The result is a chair that feels direct, open, and honest in its use of wood.
