Code Media Console for BDI - 2018

One of my favorite activities is collaborating on projects with other designers. I had the pleasure of working with Al Glass, a graphic and industrial designer I’ve known for most of my career. Al has an incredible eye for two-dimensional design and graphic composition. Together, we combined our strengths to create the Code media and storage console.

This console features a rhythmic grid of vertical strips of walnut that protrude at varying depths. The design incorporates a thoughtful composition of negative space within the door panels, which not only adds visual interest but also allows for ventilation, acoustic performance, and remote signal passage for audio/video equipment.

Proportioned thoughtfully for versatility in different living spaces, this console serves as both a sculptural statement and a practical storage solution. It reflects the seamless integration of form and function that characterized our collaborative process.
