"We must take care that everything doesn't get so dreadfully serious.  We must play, but we must play seriously."  Hans J. Wegner (1914 - 2007)

Heavily influenced by Danish modern style, Matthew looks to the works of Finn Juhl,  Poul Kjaerholm, Hans Wegner, along with many others for inspiration.  In addition to holding a degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, Matthew has spent time in Europe studying sculpture, design, and woodworking. He began his design career at a ready-to-assemble furniture company where manufacturing constraints motivated him to pursue more conceptual and experimental designs.  Since then, Matthew has been designing everything from occasional home furnishings to office furniture.  He has done work for BDI, Thomas Moser, and Steelcase.  Inspired by his love of nature, Matthew's designs have become known for their experimental approach, and always striving to do more with less.
